Garvanza, Highland Park
Hello, Neighbor!
I moved to Garvanza in 2010 from South Pasadena. My mentor was recently engaged and moving to Australia. He invited me to his place for a chat and offered me his 4-bedroom, 2-bath residence in Highland Park. I loved my neighborhood in South Pasadena, but this seemed like an offer that was too good to pass up.
I’m so glad I made the move. My relatives have lived in Highland Park since the late 1980s, just minutes from Galco’s Market, AKA the Soda Pop Stop. I crossed the 110 Freeway, entered a Los Angeles zip code, and was a few minutes closer to my family. It was a win-win situation.
Although I no longer had restaurants 5 minutes from my previous residence, I witnessed the neighborhood’s transformation. Many of my favorite bars and restaurants are within a 20-minute walk from my place. As a 20-year+ vegan, I fell in love with all the new vegan-friendly restaurants and popups sprouting up in Garvanza and Highland Park.
Tuesdays & Fridays were a vegan paradise of tasty options. Thank you, Block Party, for hosting my friends and me. We enjoyed delicious treats from Town Pizza, Cena Vegan, Donut Friend, Avocado Mama, Vegan Hooligans, Hinterhof, and many other local eateries.
I’m glad I can walk to Kitchen Mouse, Triple Beam Pizza & Highland Park Bowl. The walking helps me rack up my FitBit steps and keep my slender figure. =)
If you are bringing your new business to Highland Park or expanding your existing business, please let me help in the design & permitting process. I specialize in liquor, beer & wine licenses and enjoy designing restaurants & bars. Working with the local Health Department, Planning & Building Departments has been my forte over the past 20 years.
If you need credit card processing equipment or other merchant services for your online or brick-and-mortar business, I can help you with that, too, through VCCP Merchant Services.
I have worked on several Historic Homes in Highland Park and facilitated the relocation of Historic Homes to the Garvanza Neighborhood. I love walking on Avenue 64 and seeing how the relocated homes have blended into the neighborhood.
If you want to add an ADU to your property, add a 2nd floor to your home, or expand your residence’s footprint, I would love to help bring your dreams to reality.
I am an avid walker throughout Highland Park and would love to help a neighbor turn an idea into reality. I have lived in many different neighborhoods and am ecstatic to call Highland Park, and specifically Garvanza, my home!
Congratulations on your future/current project. I look forward to helping you or referring you to a local architect or designer to make your project happen.
Cheers!
